Product catalog summary
Overview: The CU100 model is a non-invasive ultrasonic flowmeter designed for easy installation without interrupting manufacturing processes. It is suitable for both horizontal and vertical pipes and does not cause pressure drops or leakage risks. The device requires no maintenance and is capable of measuring flow in high-pressure processes.
Specifications:
  • Flow speed range: 0.2 to 12 m/s
  • Accuracy: ±1.5% of reading value ± 0.02 m/s
  • Pipe diameter compatibility: DN80 to DN2000
  • Materials: Transducers and guide made of anodized aluminum; transducer strap made of EN 1.4301 (AISI 304); electronic converter housing made of ABS
  • Power supply: 85 to 265 VAC
  • Ingress protection: IP65
Working Principle: The CU100 operates on the transit time principle, using two ultrasonic transducers to send signals in both directions through the pipe. The difference in transit times is proportional to the liquid speed, which is then converted into a flow rate value by a digital processor.
Applications: The flowmeter is applicable in various industries, including water treatment, food, pharmaceuticals, chemicals, paper, cooling-heating circuits, pools, irrigation, fire protection, automotive, and power plants.
Installation: For accurate measurements, a straight pipe run of at least 5 times the pipe diameter is required before and after the flowmeter. Transducers should be installed on the sides of horizontal pipes to avoid interference from air or solids. Installation methods vary based on pipe size, with V-type for DN80 to DN350 and Z-type for DN400 to DN2000.
Technical Data:
  • Repeatability: ±0.25% of reading value ± 0.01 m/s
  • Liquid temperature range: -20ºC to +80ºC
  • Ambient temperature range: -20ºC to +60ºC
  • Analog output: 4-20 mA, galvanically isolated
  • Relay outputs: Two SPDT contacts, max 250 VAC, 8 A, 500 VA
  • Totalizer: 8 digits with 2 decimals
Programming: The CU100 can be programmed via PC using the Winsmeter CU software, available for download from the manufacturer's website. Connection is made through a USB cable.
Certifications: The product complies with ISO 9001, Pressure Equipment Directive 97/23/CE, and ATEX European Directive 94/9/CE.

 Liquid density and viscosity: no restrictions Model CU100 Working principle The flowmeter model CU100 is an electronic device based on the transmission of ultrasonic signals through a pipe where liquid flows. This working principle is called “transit time”.  Ambient temperature: -20ºC ... +60ºC  Working pressure: no restrictions Two ultrasonic transducers, acting alternately as transmitterreceiver and properly installed on a pipe, send an ultrasonic signal, first in one direction (A→B) , then in reverse (B→A).  Connections: external mounting on pipe. Optional installation A digital processor...

Ultrasonic flowmeters Series CU Installation For an accurate flow measurement, the ultrasonic flowmeter model CU100 requires a straight pipe run of minimum 5 x DN before and after the flowmeter. The required distance depends on the flow profile, which can be affected by the disturbing elements found in the installation before and after the transducers, as shown in the following chart: Disturbing 2 x 90º elbow in one plane 2 x 90º elbow in different planes In horizontal pipes, it is recommended to install the transducers on the sides of the pipe, and not on the upper and lower sides (Fig. 3),...
