A shock load factor c is introduced to account for load severity and daily operating hours when selecting gearboxes. Shock loads are categorized into three classes:
Tables provide c values based on prime mover type, shock class, and operating hours (0.5 to 24 hours).
Output torque is calculated by M = (9550 × P) / n.
Gear ratio i is the ratio of input to output shaft speeds, regardless of speed increase or reduction. Manufacturer-specified ratios must be strictly followed when ordering.
Selection must consider motor nominal torque, shock factor c, and operating conditions to ensure maximum recurring torque does not exceed nominal torque. Permissible input torque is calculated as:
M1 (permissible) = M2 nominal × c × i
Designed for dynamic servo motors, these low-backlash planetary gearboxes come in two or three stages, achieving gear ratios up to 100:1 or 1000:1 with minimal size increase. Available with input shafts or drive pins.
Technical tables specify nominal and max output torques, inertia, radial loads, and typical gear ratios for models such as PL2 FS 00, PL2 FS 01, etc.
