Advanced Characteristics of Fluoropolymer Coating Regular PTFE coating has an excellent water-repellency and is frequently used as a surface treatment to improve drainage of liquids from nozzles. However, it causes hydrophobic interactions and, compared to a regular stainless steel without coating (Figure 1), more protein adheres to the surface of the PTFE coating (Figure 2).
