SB24B Hot Sprue Bushings
These bushings are equipped with band heaters and are ideal for mold depths between 140mm and 380mm. They include mineral insulated heater bands or high-reliability tubular heaters, thermocouples, and support ring assembly.
SB24T Hot Sprue Bushings
These bushings use tubular heaters and are suitable for mold depths between 220mm and 850mm. They include highly reliable tubular heaters, thermocouples, and support ring assembly.
Ordering Information
When ordering, specify the "A" dimension for mold depth, desired tip style (CV-10 or CV-20), and additional requirements such as material type and orifice diameter. Special orders can be made for 420 SS bushings for processing corrosive materials.
Tip Styles
  • CV-10: Gate/Full Flow
  • CV-20: Open/Full Flow
Each tip style has specific applications and requirements for optimal gate control.
Material Compatibility
The bushings are compatible with a wide range of materials, including ABS, Acetal, Acrylic, Nylon, Polycarbonate, Polyester, Polyethylene, Polypropylene, and more. Some materials require specific tip styles or additional considerations.
Accessories
Synventive offers a range of accessories, including replacement band heaters and thermocouples, as well as single and multi-zone temperature control systems.
Tip Removal/Replacement
Tip Removal:
1. Use a 36mm 6-point deep socket wrench to remove the tip. If the tip is stuck, heat the bushing to the operating melt temperature.
Insert Removal:
1. Remove the conductive BeCu insert only if replacing it. Reinstallation may affect heat transfer.
2. Drill into the insert center with an 11.1mm diameter drill to a depth of 15mm, then thread with an M12 tap.
3. Use an M12 rod and removal tool to extract the insert.
Tip Replacement:
1. Clean plastic from the SYNVENTIVE-SEAL and tip sealing diameter.
2. Apply blueing to verify seating between the tip and body.
3. Ensure the SYNVENTIVE-SEAL is in place before installation.
4. Torque the tip to 48 kg.M (350 ft.lb).
Insert Replacement:
1. Clean plastic from the insert counter bore and measure diameters.
2. The insert should be .013-.030mm larger than the counter bore for proper heat transfer.
3. Press the insert so the shoulder is flush with the tip seat using an installation tool and arbor press.
SYNVENTIVE-SEAL Replacement:
Inspect the SYNVENTIVE-SEAL for damage or plastic leakage. Use a removal tool to avoid scratching. Replace only on a smooth, plastic-free sealing diameter using a light arbor press.
