Marconi N Series 5G NR Distributed Base Station INTRODUCTION The Spideradio 5G NR Distributed Base Station (DBS) system, Marconi N Series, consists of a Baseband Unit (BBU), an optional HUB, and one or multiple Remote Radio Units (RRUs), where a RRU could be a high-power outdoor radio unit or a low-power indoor radio unit. The Marconi N Series 5G NR DBS provides customers with an advanced, high-performance, distributed 5G wireless solution suitable for multiple scenarios. These combined technologies provide low-cost 5G indoor and outdoor wireless coverage, improving the coverage range, capacity, and eliminating blind spots. NETWORK TOPOLOGY The BBU can realize the most of base station signaling and data processing, including the PHY-layer baseband processing functions and the high-layer radio access network protocol stack functions. Besides, the BBU could realize the centralized control and management of the entire distributed base station system. RRU, as the remote unit, realized the radio frequency (RF) functions of a base station. In this distributed solution, one BBU could be connected to multiple RRUs by Common Public Radio Interface (CPRI) or enhanced Common Public Radio Interface (eCPRI) interface directly. Alternatively, a HUB could be placed between BBU and RRU to extend the connectable RRU number.
