Product catalog summary
Overview: The Low Pressure Dryers (LPD) by Summit Systems are designed to accelerate the polymer drying process using vacuum technology. This method lowers the boiling point of water to 56ºC, allowing for rapid moisture extraction from heated materials, making them ready for molding or extrusion.
Key Features:
  • Fully automatic operation with a fail-safe alarm system.
  • Three material canisters mounted on a carousel for continuous drying cycles.
  • Compact design reduces shop floor footprint compared to desiccant dryers.
  • User-friendly control panel with thumbwheels for setting drying temperature and cycle time.
  • Mobile design for easy cleaning access.
Benefits:
  • Energy consumption reduced by 70-80% compared to other drying methods.
  • Significantly reduced material drying times.
  • Lower maintenance costs compared to desiccant dryers.
  • Eliminates downtime during material changes by drying in batches.
  • Reduces material degradation due to less heat exposure.
  • No excess material handling during changeovers.
Specifications:
  • Standard version max temperature: 150°C; High heat version: 180°C.
  • Models vary in throughput from 15 kg/h to 400 kg/h.
  • Compressed air usage ranges from 0.7m³/h to 6 m³/h.
  • Total installed power ranges from 3.47 kW to 51.2 kW.
Drying Technology: The LPD technology offers faster start-up and mold change times due to its efficient drying process.
Additional Offerings: Summit Systems also provides a range of products including gravimetric blenders, vacuum hopper loaders, material dryers, and more.

Low pressure dryers-1

Our LPD (low pressure dryers) accelerate the polymer drying process by using a vacuum to lower the boiling point of water from 100°C to 56°C. The moisture is rapidly extracted from the heated material. Leaving it in a condition to be ■ Fully automatic with fail safe alarm as standard ■ Three material canisters internally mounted on a carousel which enables a continuous drying cycle ■ Compact dimensions reduce footprint on shop floor when compared to equivalent desiccant dryers ■ Operator friendly control panel with thumbwheels for setting drying temperature ■ Mobile design with easy access for cleaning ■ Reduction in energy consumption of 70-80% when compared with other material drying ■ Reduction in material drying times - typically a LPD will dry material in Vfe of the time of a more traditional desiccant dryer ■ Reduced maintenance costs when compared with a desiccant dryer ■ Elimination of downtime incurred through material changes as the LPD dries product in ■ 8-12 times less exposure to heat cycle dramatically reducing material degradation ■ No excess material to re bag/decant at material changeover We've got the right dryer for you, Summit Systems Vanguard, Tame Park, Tamworth, Summit Systems Ltd.
