Product catalog summary
Overview: The document is a technical catalogue for the FINE CYCLO® F4C-D series motion control drives, detailing their specifications, applications, and operational principles. It covers construction, product nomenclature, speed ratios, and ratings.
Specifications: The F4C-D series features a simple construction with fewer parts, reducing assembly time. It includes a flat output flange for simplified sealing and a large hollow diameter for the high-speed shaft, allowing for high torque and moment capacity in a compact form.
Applications: These drives are suitable for industrial robots, machine tools, and FA equipment, specifically for axis driving, robot sliders, and automatic pallet changers.
Operating Principles: The FINE CYCLO® uses a unique speed reducer mechanism with a planet gear and cycloidal teeth, combined with a fixed internal sun gear with circular pin teeth, enabling high velocity ratios and smooth motion transmission.
Ratings: Detailed tables provide rated output torque, input speeds, and allowable input power for different frame sizes, including maximum acceleration and deceleration torques and peak torques for emergency stops.
Engineering Data: Information on main bearings, selection criteria, and design considerations is included, emphasizing the calculation of rated torque based on operational speeds.
Conclusion: The FINE CYCLO® F4C-D series offers excellent cost performance and design flexibility, suitable for a wide range of industrial applications, with high efficiency and reliability due to its innovative gearing mechanism.
Specifications: The document details torque and speed parameters, including output torque at 100% efficiency, allowable maximum and mean input speeds, and peak torque during acceleration or deceleration. It also specifies the moment of inertia with conversion instructions.
Procedures: Instructions are provided for calculating rated torque when specific speeds are not listed, as well as for calculating no-load running torque and torsion angles under different load conditions.
Standards and Norms: Engineering data includes stiffness and lost motion metrics, breakaway torque, and efficiency curves, with specified conditions for measurement such as temperature and lubrication standards.
Recommendations: Guidelines for allowable radial and axial loads on high-speed shafts are provided, including formulas and tables for calculations. Advice on the selection process for reducers considers factors like shock and load conditions.
Tables and Figures: Numerous tables and figures are included, such as efficiency curves, load factors, and assembly precision requirements. Key data includes allowable radial and axial loads, coupling and shock factors, and moment stiffness values.
Assembly and Design Notices: Instructions for assembly precision and tightening torque for bolts are provided, emphasizing proper assembly to prevent damage and ensure optimal performance.

6. Operating Principles The reducer portion of the FINE CYCLO® is fundamentaly different in principle and mechanism from the involute gearing mechanism of competitive gearmotors. The unique speed reducer portion is an ingenious combination of the following two mechanisms: A combination of a planet gear and a fixed internal sun gear. In the FINE CYCLO®, the planet gear has cycloidal-shaped teeth and the sun gear has circular pin teeth. The number of teeth in the planet gear is one or two less than the sun gear. A constant speed internal gearing mechanism. Principle of internal Planetary Gearing...
