Product catalog summary
General Safety Notes
This manual is for the BEM 6 machinery, intended for machining operations like drilling and countersinking in non-explosive environments. Only qualified personnel should handle the machine.
Commissioning
Safety Instructions: Disconnect from power before any work. Only qualified personnel should start the machine. Conduct test runs without workpieces to ensure safe operation.
Assembly Instructions: Use screws of quality grade 8.8 with a maximum torque of 12Nm. Connect cables only after complete installation.
Power Connection: Verify motor rotation direction after power connection and adjust proximity switches and pneumatic connections as needed.
Handling/Operation
Machine: Ensure the machine is at a complete standstill before changing toothed pulleys. Follow specific instructions for belt tension and pulley replacement.
Control: The motor can only be turned on and off; no frequency converter is installed.
Tools: Install collet chuck with a maximum torque of 16Nm.
Maintenance/Service
Preventive Maintenance: Check belt tension after 50 hours of operation. No lubrication is required.
Troubleshooting: If the machine does not start, check inductive sensors and air pressure.
Repair: Only authorized service centers should perform repairs. Warranty claims are void if the machine is mishandled or improperly maintained.
Operating Conditions
Temperature range: +20 to +50°C. Maximum relative humidity: 90% at +30°C, 65% at +50°C. Compressed air should be 5-7 bar, following DIN ISO 8573-1 [5/4/4].
Disposal
The machine is recyclable. It should be rendered unusable before disposal and must be taken to an environmentally compliant disposal center.
Specifications
The machine has a maximum drilling power in steel of 600 N/mm² with a diameter of 6mm, a total stroke of 80mm, and an advance force at 6 bar of 700N. The advance speed ranges from 10 to 10000mm/min, with an internal air connection diameter of 4mm and an air consumption of 0.08 l per cm of stroke. The tool holder is an ER16 collet, and the concentricity precision is 0.02mm. The motor has a protection grade of IP 55, with a nominal power of 0.37kW/0.44kW and a supply voltage of 230/400/460V, 50Hz.
Initial Setup
Adjust the stroke to the starting position using compressed air or manually. Fine adjustment involves loosening a screw and rotating the stop pin, with each turn corresponding to a 0.5mm stroke adjustment.
Operation
The machine must be immobilized before replacing toothed pulleys. Adjust belt tension according to motor speed, with specific frequencies provided for different motor speeds.
Maintenance
Preventive maintenance includes disconnecting the machine from the power supply and checking belt tension after the first 50 hours of service. Periodic cleaning of the advanced tailstock sleeve is required.
Warranty and Disposal
The warranty does not cover indirect losses or damages from improper use or maintenance by unauthorized personnel. The machine should be recycled according to environmental standards and should not be disposed of as waste.
