Low Cost Slip Clutch

Low Cost Slip Clutch

Low Cost Slip Clutch

Product catalog summary
Overview
The document provides technical specifications and features of the low-cost slip clutch models offered by SG Transmission. It highlights the advantages of using magnetic slip clutches, which include accurate and stable torque, long operational life, easy installation, and no contamination risks.

Features
  • Accurate Torque: Utilizes a hysteresis principle to maintain constant torque levels, avoiding high breakaway torque typical in friction devices.
  • Stable Torque: Consistent torque is maintained within the allowable speed range due to the hysteresis principle.
  • Long Operational Life: Torque is transmitted via permanent magnets and magnetic particles, minimizing wear.
  • Easy Installation: Pre-assembled units require no adjustments.
  • No Contamination: Sealed units prevent contamination from and to the machine environment.

Specifications
Magnetic Slip Clutch with Shaft (Series 51-OPL)
  • Static Torque: Ranges from 0.03 Nm to 0.40 Nm.
  • Optional Torque Range: Varies from 0.17 to 3.52 lbs. in.
  • Max Allowable Speed: Between 200 to 400 r/min depending on the model.
  • Shaft Diameter: Consistently 8 mm across models.
  • Radial and Axial Dimensions: Detailed dimensions provided for various models.
  • Recommendation: Use ball bearing design for radial or axial thrust applications.

Magnetic Slip Clutch Through Bore (Series 51-OPL-R)
  • Static Torque: Ranges from 0.03 Nm to 0.30 Nm.
  • Optional Torque Range: Varies from 0.019 to 0.299 Nm. in.
  • Max Allowable Speed: Between 250 to 400 r/min depending on the model.
  • Radial and Axial Dimensions: Detailed dimensions provided for various models.
  • Unit Weight: Ranges from 0.025 Kg to 0.15 Kg.
  • Recommendation: Use ball bearing design for radial or axial thrust applications.

Conclusion
The document provides comprehensive technical details and recommendations for selecting the appropriate slip clutch model based on application requirements. The use of magnetic technology ensures durability and performance consistency.

Low Cost Slip Clutch-1

LOW COST SLIP CLUTCH SG Transmission, 20 Longfield Road, South Church Enterprise Park, Bishop Auckland, County Durham, UK, DL14 6XB -;-;- Accurate Torque The drag torque is produced by means of a hysteresis principle. This allows for constant torque levels and eliminates the possibility of high break away torque that occurs with typical friction devices. Stable Torque Consistent torque is maintained because of the hysteresis principle and is consistent within allowable speed range. Long Operational Life Permanent magnets and magnetic particles transmit torque, therefore wear is virtually eliminated. Easy Installation Units are provided pre-assembled to a specific torque range, so there is nothing to adjust Units are sealed which prevents any particles from contaminating the machine, and also prevents contamination of the clutch by the machine environment.
