2 HYDRAULIC WINCHES 45 TONS ON RENAULT TRUCKS VEHICLES CSC0001A For a logistic company in Algeria, the STARTER teams have designed and implemented an embedded winch system on Renault T tractors to pull excavators or accommodation containers on low-loader trailers. Design, manufacturing and installation of a rear cabin winch for a mining/construction equipment carrier vehicle. This system consists of a 45 ton worm gear winch at the rear of the cabin. challenges The maximum total pulling capacity of the winch (45 000 daN) exceeded the strength of the vehicle’s chassis. To protect the original chassis, the STARTER engineers had to strengthen it while respecting the technical specifications given by the body builder.

2 HYDRAULIC WINCHES 45 TONS ON RENAULT TRUCKS VEHICLES starter solution The winches are fixed to the chassis thanks to the subframe. This subframe is bolted instead of being welded to give more longevity to the product and the possibility to put the equipment on a different vehicle for example. The solution includes an independent hydraulic system (pumps, hoses, tanks, filters and electrical control) that perfectly fits the destination vehicle.
