Overview
Starrett optical comparators offer a reliable and cost-effective solution for non-contact measurement. They project an image of a part onto a screen at a known magnification, allowing for precise measurements or comparisons with overlays. Specifications
The VB400 model features a 16" diameter screen with crosslines and calibration marks, a workstage with 8"x4" travel, and a maximum load capacity of 22lb. It includes manual motion control, a bayonet lens socket for quick magnification changes, and a dual mirror design for vertically correct images. The system offers fine adjustment for X and Y axes, fast traverse with zero backlash for the X-axis, and Heidenhain glass scales for high resolution.

Options
Available options include projection lenses ranging from 10X to 100X, larger workstages, fiber-optic edge detection, and various digital readouts and software options like MetLogix M2 and Quadra-Chek QC221. The VB400 can be equipped with a 23" or 32" cabinet stand.

MetLogix M2 Software
This software, available on a tablet PC, supports 2D geometry software for various measurements and offers Windows 7 OS with Wi-Fi connectivity for CAD file import/export. It supports optical edge detection and CNC control.

Accessories
Starrett provides a range of accessories for their optical comparators, including precision centers, rotary vee blocks, vises, and magnification check gradules. Each accessory is manufactured to the same high standards as the comparators.
