The new Star side entry robot, specifically designed for In Mould Labelling applications, is the result of the great experience developed from Star over the past ten years. This new model is a compact machine that combines the robot, the label magazine and the stocking system for moulded parts, all contained in a refined and elegant structure made by painted steel. The robot is composed by an horizontal axis, made by steel to provides high strength and rigidity, were it is placed the entry unit. The entry arm is belt driven by a high powered servomotor (this system ensures minimum noise and vibrations). The chuck is mounted on the end of the entry unit and has pneumatic driving gear to place the label in the mould and remove the finished component at the same time. The label magazine has been designed with a new concept: labels are transferred from the magazine to a pre-forming station, this correctly shapes the label prior to the robot placing the label in the mould. The finished components can be stacked on the magazine to maximize the available space and provide the best autonomy.
