LCR Meters

Product catalog summary
Overview: The SR715 and SR720 LCR Meters by Stanford Research Systems are precision instruments designed for measuring passive components with high accuracy. The SR715 offers a basic accuracy of 0.2%, while the SR720 provides 0.05% accuracy. These meters are suitable for applications such as incoming inspection, quality control, automated testing, and general benchtop use.
Specifications: Both models feature a 5-digit LED display for showing measured values and parameters. They support test frequencies of 100 Hz, 120 Hz, 1 kHz, 10 kHz, and up to 100 kHz for the SR720. The drive voltage can be preset or adjusted, and measurements can be averaged for increased accuracy. The meters support both series and parallel equivalent circuit models.
Features: The SR715 and SR720 include an AUTO measurement mode for ease of use, allowing quick setup and parameter selection. They can store up to nine instrument setups in non-volatile memory. Calibration is simplified with a null calibration procedure to correct open and short circuit parameters.
Binning and Sorting: These meters offer binning features for component sorting, useful in production testing and device matching. They support pass/fail, overlapping, and sequential binning schemes, with parameters stored in non-volatile RAM.
Test Fixtures: The meters use a 4-wire Kelvin fixture for accurate measurements, with adapters available for various component types. Optional accessories include SMD Tweezers and Kelvin Clips for different component configurations.
Interfaces: The SR715 and SR720 include an RS-232 interface for remote control, with the SR720 also offering GPIB and parts handler interfaces. External bias voltages up to 40 VDC can be applied via rear-panel connections.
Ordering Information: The SR715 is priced at $995, and the SR720 at $1495. Optional accessories such as Kelvin clips, surface mount tweezers, and a BNC adapter are available for additional costs.

LCR Meters SR715 and SR720 — LCR meters with test frequencies to 100 kHz SR715 & SR720 LCR Meters · 0.05 % basic accuracy (SR720), 0.2 % (SR715) · 5-digit display of L, C, R and Q or D · Test frequencies to 100 kHz (SR720) · Up to 20 measurements per second The SR715 and SR720 LCR Meters measure passive components with as little as 0.05 % error. These easy-touse instruments are quick to setup, adjust and calibrate. The SR715 and SR720 are ideal for applications such as incoming inspection, quality control, automated test, and general benchtop use. Front-Panel Display · External capacitor bias up to 40 V A 5-digit LED display shows measured values, entered parameters, instrument status, and user messages. When making measurements, the major parameter (L, C or R) is shown on the left display and the appropriate minor parameter (Q, D or R) is shown on the right display. Making Measurements · GPIB & Parts Handler interfaces (SR720) Measurements can be performed at test frequencies of 100 Hz, 120 Hz, 1 kHz, 10 kHz and 100 kHz (SR720 only). A built-in drive voltage can be set to preset values (0.1, 0.25 and 1.0 V) or adjusted from 0.1 to 1.0 V in 50 mV increments. · Binning and limits for parts sorting Stanford Research Systems Measurements are taken at rates of 2, 10 or 20 samples per second. Consecutive readings can be averaged between two and ten times for increased accuracy. Both series or parallel equivalent circuit models of a component are supported. Capacitor measurements use either the internal 2.0 VDC bias or an external source of up to 40 VDC.

Simple to Operate The power and flexibility of the SR715/720 does not come at the expense of ease-of-use. A convenient AUTO measurement mode automates the selection of setup parameters and quickly determines the appropriate device model for whatever component is being measured. Up to nine instrument setups can be stored in non-volatile memory for quick recall at a later time. progressively larger bins (e.g., ±1 %, ±2 %, ±3 %). Sequential bins can have different nominal values, each separated by a percentage or a nominal value and asymmetrical limits. Binning parameters are also easily stored...
