High Temp Material

Product catalog summary
Overview: This document provides specifications for various high-temperature felt materials used primarily in dry filtration applications. The materials discussed include CONEX®/NOMEX® (Aramid), P84® (Polyimide), and RYTON® (PPS) felts.
Material Specifications:
  • CONEX®/NOMEX® (Aramid): Recommended continuous operation temperature is 375°F with a maximum short-term temperature of 400°F. It has excellent resistance to alkalies, mineral acids, and organic solvents, but only fair resistance to oxidizing agents. Available in weights of 16 oz. to 18 oz.
  • P84® (Polyimide): Recommended continuous operation temperature is 400°F with a maximum short-term temperature of 425°F. It offers good resistance to alkalies and organic solvents, but poor resistance to oxidizing agents. Available in weights of 10 oz. to 22 oz.
  • RYTON® (PPS): Recommended continuous operation temperature is 475°F with a maximum short-term temperature of 500°F. It provides excellent resistance to organic solvents and good resistance to mineral and organic acids. Available in weights of 14 oz. to 18 oz.
Product Styles and Applications:
  • STYLE P814SS: Made from 100% P84 fiber, this material is needle punched and scrim-supported, with a weight of 14 oz./sq yd. It is suitable for continuous temperatures up to 475°F and surge temperatures up to 500°F.
  • STYLE RY16SS: Composed of 100% RYTON fiber, it has a weight of 16 oz./sq yd and can withstand continuous temperatures of 375°F and surge temperatures of 400°F.
  • STYLE CX14SS and CX16SS: Both styles are made from 100% Aramid fiber, with weights of 14 oz./sq yd and 16 oz./sq yd respectively. They are designed for continuous temperatures of 400°F and surge temperatures of 425°F.
  • STYLE NX14SS and NX16SS: These styles use 100% DuPont Aramid fiber, with weights of 14 oz./sq yd and 16 oz./sq yd. They are also suitable for continuous temperatures of 400°F and surge temperatures of 425°F.
General Notes: All specifications are subject to change to improve product performance. The materials do not support combustion and show no biological resistance effects.
