It is important that there is no water in your brake fluid system. When water enters the system, the boiling point of your brake fluid is reduced dramatically, and this will cause your brakes to fail. This scenario has caused many accidents, and it is therefore extremely important to test your brake fluid at least once a year. With this refractometer you can easy test, the boiling point of your brake fluid, and at the same time see the water content there might be (show in percent). All you have to do is to add a few drops of liquid to the main prism. Close the cover plate and ensure that the fluid covers the entire prism area.
