Product catalog summary
Overview: The Waukesha® Positive Temperature Coefficient (PTC2) heater is designed to enhance the reliability, efficiency, and lifespan of electrical equipment by maintaining a slightly higher enclosure temperature than the ambient temperature without the need for a thermostat.
Key Features:
  • Eliminates thermostat issues by using variable resistance material for automatic temperature control.
  • Prevents heat damage and condensation with an integral fan for even heat distribution.
  • Quick installation with pre-wired electrical connections and a 12-foot wire harness.
  • Compact size with a plastic heater guard for safety.
  • UL Recognized and energy-efficient with low power consumption.
Specifications:
  • Available in configurations of 20, 30, 40, 60, 200, 300, and 400 Watts.
  • Dual-rated for 120V–240V, with fan-forced options for higher wattages.
  • Temperature-activated models with internal thermostats set to energize at 5°C±3°C.
Installation: The PTC2 heaters are designed for easy installation with a DIN-rail mounting clip and snap-together connections between the harness and heater.

Positive Temperature Coefficient Heater S M A L L E R , FA S T E R , E A S I E R T E M P E R AT U R E C O N T R O L W I T H O U T A T H E R M O S TAT The Waukesha® Positive Temperature Coefficient heater (PTC2) can improve the reliability, efficiency and operational life of electrical equipment by automatically maintaining an enclosure temperature only slightly higher than the outside ambient temperature without using a thermostat or controls. Our PTC2 performs this function with a high velocity fan, all while taking up less space and having no need for any special mounting platforms. E LI M I NATE S TH E R M OSTAT PR OB LE M S Our PTC2 heaters use a variable resistance (current limiting) material that automatically controls cabinet temperature and eliminates the need for a thermostat, increasing heater reliability and efficiency. SEE BACK SIDE FOR PART NUMBER CONFIGURATION TOOL. PR EVE NTS H EAT DAMAG E AN D CON D E N SATI ON During cold weather when significant heat is required to reach the thermostat setting, a traditional strip heater is likely to drive the temperature of the area around the heater well above desirable levels. This can result in uneven heat distribution in the control box. Waukesha® PTC2 heaters feature an integral circulating fan that moves warm air around the cabinet, maintaining even heat distribution and providing uniform condensation protection. The PTC2 offers even better air velocity than the previous PTC, allowing for even more air movement throughout the cabinet. PTC2 heaters are available in the following configurations: • 20, 30, 40 & 60 Watt — dual rated for 120V–240V • 200 Watt, Fan Forced* • 300 Watt, Fan Forced* • 400 Watt, Fan Forced* * Specify either 120V or 240V I N STALLS QU I CK LY The electrical connections from the fan to the heater are prewired, so the only connection necessary is to provide power to the assembly; our forced air PTC2 heaters include a 12 foot long wire harness with quick-connect end for easy installation. Integrated DIN-rail mounting clip allows for quick orientation in cabinet for proper air circulation. Snap-together connection between harness and heater further simplifies installation.
