Auto-Recharging Dehydrating Breathers INTELLIGENT TECHNOLOGY HELPS KEEP OIL DRY AND TRANSFORMERS FREE FROM CONTAMINANTS The second generation ARDB uses breather intelligence technology and a bypass valve to automatically schedule regeneration and isolate the transformer from the silica gel. Logic controls include a humidity switch, timer and vacuum protection circuit that automatically “learn” to regenerate during transformer exhale only, driving moisture out of the desiccant while keeping the transformer isolated from steam-generated contaminants. U S E R - C O N T R O L L E D T I M E - BA S E D S E T T I N G S Included timer allows variable time-based settings for user-controlled regeneration of silica gel. Time settings for 5, 10, 20 or 40 day intervals can be set by the customer. Intelligent humidity sensor serves as a back-up to ensure user-based settings are adequate for proper breather operation. Available in SMALL/8,000 gallon size and LARGE/18,000 gallon size. For increased capacity, multiple ARDB2s may be applied to the same tank. See back side of this brochure for LED indicator colors. VACUUM SENSOR O P E R AT I O N ( D I AG R A M AT L E F T ) During regeneration, a heating element located inside the ARDB2 assembly heats the partially saturated silica gel, driving moisture out. This moisture condenses on the polycarbonate tube, forming free water, which then flows down the tube and out the bottom vent.
