Connection & Control Panel A3/1800, A7/3800, A8/3800 In the production of electrical and electronic products, it is often necessary and beneficial to optimize the workstation layout at test stations. The use of connection and control panels enables efficient and application-oriented workstation design. Both operation and connection to the device under test (DUT) can be flexibly adapted to specific process requirements. Based on practical experience, two basic panel types are available: panels for electrical connection only, featuring sockets, terminals, and/or banana sockets, as well as combined panels providing both electrical connection and operator controls. For applications involving hazardous currents, connection and control panels with two-hand operation are also available to enhance operator safety. As with all SPS electronic products, particular emphasis has been placed on ergonomic design. Three different console housing sizes have been developed to cover a wide range of applications. Depending on customer requirements, the optimal connection and control panel configuration is selected from these housing variants. Connection to the test device or automated test system is established via a special connecting cable with a length of 3 m (9.8 ft). Both the cable and the connector system are rated for voltages up to 5,500 VAC and currents up to 30 AAC. For ground bond testing, the connection and control panels are equipped with an additional high-current socket. This allows the ground bond test probe to be connected directly at the workstation, ensuring safe, efficient, and reliable test operation.
