Types of Surge Protectors
Type I - Gas Discharge Arrestor: Features a ceramic insulator with conductive caps filled with inert gas, suitable for broadband applications from DC to 2500 MHz, requiring maintenance.
Type II - Quarter Wavelength Stub: Acts as a bandpass filter, supports up to three mobile bands from 380 to 2200 MHz, maintenance-free, but does not allow DC transmission.
Type III - Quarter Wavelength Stub with DC Break: Extends bandwidth and reduces residual voltage, supports mobile bands from 800 to 2500 MHz, but does not allow DC transmission.
Type IV - Quarter Wavelength Line and Gas Discharge Arrestor: Combines both protection mechanisms, supports all mobile bands, allows DC and low-frequency transmission, requires maintenance.
Types V and VI - Bias-T with/without Modem: Includes low-pass and DC connection or modem, supports three mobile bands, offers high DC voltage and current, and low intermodulation. Type VI supports AISG 2.0 data transmission.
Technical Specifications and Installation
Bulkhead Mounting and Fixed Socket: Suitable for outdoor installation, allows DC transmission, and gas discharge arrestors are replaceable every 3 to 4 years.
Surge Protectors with Gas Discharge Arrestor: Frequency range 0 to 2.5 GHz, impedance of 50 Ω, and operating temperature from -40 °C to +85 °C.
