CS18 SPL-VLF

CS18 SPL-VLF

Product catalog summary
Application
The CS18 SPL-VLF Calibration System is designed for the very low frequency calibration of pressure transducers and pressure measuring devices. It is also used for the secondary calibration of measuring microphones and microphone measuring chains within pressure chambers.
Range of Use
This system is applicable in calibration laboratories and departments responsible for measuring instrument verification across various industries, including automotive, aviation, space, military research, medical, and environmental engineering. It is also used for quality assurance in the manufacturing of pressure transducers and measuring microphones.
Features
The system offers true pressure chamber calibration using an acoustic calibrator, capable of calibrating all established measuring microphones without requiring special mechanical adaptations. It provides a complete exposure of the test object to the pressure field and supplies an alternating sound pressure level for dynamic pressure measuring chains and devices, particularly sound level meters. The system is upgradeable to a combined acoustical calibration system.
Components
The system includes a vibration control system (SRS-35), a very-low-frequency pressure generator (SQ-03), a power amplifier (PA14-80), and reference standards such as the BN-A-03 Acoustic calibrator pistonphone and BN-A-04 pressure reference standard. A standard PC is also part of the setup.
Specifications
The CS18 SPL-VLF operates under environmental conditions of 23°C (± 2°C) and relative humidity between 30% and 75%. The pressure chamber measures 20 cm x 20 cm x 65 cm, with a sinusoidal signal form and a frequency range of 0.1 Hz to 31.5 Hz. The pressure range is 10 Pa to 32 Pa, corresponding to 114 dB to 124 dB, with total harmonic distortion up to ≤ 0.3%. Measurement uncertainty is ≤ 0.05 dB and ≤ 0.5%, determined according to GUM with a coverage factor of k = 2.
Calibration Procedure
Calibration is performed by comparing the test objects with a reference standard pressure sensor or among the test objects themselves.
