It increases die life by rapidly dissipating heat; and because of its unusual lubricating properties, it reduces scratches, die marks and distortion. Toolife® Base 117 provides a coating that remains uniform, free flowing and non-spattering due to its tenacity to adhere, plasticity and exceptionally high film strength. Toolife® Base 117 is economical to use, since it replaces costlier soaps and fats. It does not harden or glaze under die pressure and will not discolor. Toolife® Base 117 is especially recommended for use on stainless steel and on slow-moving hydraulic power presses. It is highly suited for deep draws. Toolife® Base 117 may be used as is, or it may be diluted with one or two parts of paraffin oil, depending on the nature of the draw. It may be applied by roller, brushing, dipping, spraying or pumping, and is readily moved by any standard safety solvent or degreasing method.
