The RL-15/35 is a high-accuracy radar sensor designed for contact-free measurement of water levels. It operates by emitting a microwave pulse towards the water surface, which is then reflected back to the sensor's evaluation system. The time taken for the pulse to return is used to calculate the distance to the water surface.
The device uses a radar sensor to determine water levels.
Product information is provided by Sommer GmbH, with technical data subject to change as of version V-05/2015.
RL-15/35 Contact-free radar sensor to measure the water level » Maintenance free » Measurement range from 15 m / 35 m » Near blanking zone 0.5 m » High accuracy +/-2 mm » Compact design » Independent of environmental influences » Easy integration in existing systems » Vandalism secure as design does not attract atte

Measurement principle The so-called pulse procedure sends a short microwave impulse to the water surface. Afterwards the sensor remains in standby for a short time. Within this time the water reflects the pulses to the integrated evaluation system. The run time of the impulses corresponds directly to the distance to the current surface water level.
