Measuring Principle

The IDS-20 sensor uses the physical characteristics of air, water, and ice at varying frequencies to distinguish between water and ice. It measures complex impedances to recognize ice formation. Version 2: Two alternating cube sensors for very thin ice layers (0.01 to 1 mm).
Version 3: One rod sensor for large ice thicknesses (1 to 80 mm).
Version 4: Combination of cube and rod sensors for a wide range of ice thicknesses.
