Overview
The BENCHTOP system by Solidscape, Inc. offers precision and cost-effective solutions for pattern-making in various industries. It eliminates the need for wax carving and unnecessary post-processing, allowing direct transition to investment casting or rubber mold making. The system is designed to meet the demands for reduced time-to-market requirements.
Specifications
The BENCHTOP system features a build envelope of 12 x 6 x 6 inches and operates with standard CAD files on a PC running Windows 2000 Professional, XP Professional, or Windows Vista Business. It uses a non-toxic thermoplastic material with excellent casting qualities and supports unattended operation for extended periods.
Precision and Efficiency
The system delivers unmatched precision with adjustable Z-axis build layers ranging from 0.0005 to 0.0050 inches. It achieves an accuracy of ± 0.001 inches per inch across all dimensions and offers a surface finish of 32-63 micro-inches (RMS). The system supports automatic status monitoring, fault detection, and easy-to-dissolve wax support, eliminating post-build benchwork.
System Requirements
The BENCHTOP system requires a power supply of 115v 60 Hz AC or 230v 50 Hz AC and operates best in ambient temperatures of 60º to 80º F with 40% to 60% humidity. It is CE certified, FCC Class A approved, TUV approved, and RoHS compliant.
Software
The ModelWorks™ software supports CAD file inputs in .STL and .SLC formats, allowing variable slice thicknesses within the same model. It features a familiar Windows interface and automatic generation of model support structures.
Affordability
The system package includes BENCHTOP hardware and software, factory training for one operator, an external vacuum system, ModelWorks™ application software, a starter kit of consumable materials, and technical support.
Applications
The BENCHTOP system is used for modeling prototypes and casting patterns in industries such as aerospace, medical, consumer goods, automotive, electronics, and jewelry.
