DASDISTRIBUTED ACOUSTIC SENSING UNIT DAS is a compact fiber optic interrogator capable of providing continuous (distributed) low-noise quantitative measurements of the optical phase along the whole length of any standard telecom optical fiber. The optical phase information is directly linked to any vibration or sound nearby that stretches the sensing optical fiber and can be easily converted to strain or any other desired quantity. DAS behaves like an array of thousands of microphones/geophones without any electrical cables or batteries, allowing much simpler installation and reduced maintenance cost. DAS integrates in a single unit both the optical system and the control/processing hardware, offering a complete stand-alone solution that can be connected to optical fiber cables already in place. It comes with a software suite enabling full control and customization of the measurement, as well as real-time or off-line data display and data processing. Additional Matlab and Python libraries are available upon request for data handling and processing. Real-time data streaming and remote control and configuration are available through ZeroMQ protocol. • Structural Health Monitoring • Seismic monitoring and Earthquake detection • Subsea infrastructure monitoring • Real-time traffic monitoring on roads and motorways • Telecom network infrastructures integrity monitoring
