NIDS is the first truly multiplexed Handheld Assay (HHA) on the market, with each HHA test strip simultaneously testing for up to 5 bio agents from just 100 microliters of sample solution. NIDS utilizes unique nano-manipulation technology to orient all active antibodies for maximum sensitivity and to virtually eliminate ‘Hook Effect’ which can cause false negative readings when testing very concentrated bio agent samples. By eliminating Hook Effect, NIDS eliminates the need to run serial dilutions on multiple assays to ensure that HHA results are reliable. The NIDS handheld reader is a palm‑sized ruggedized portable optical scanning device that takes all of the guess work out of interpreting HHA results by different responders in field conditions with poor lighting and limited visibility while wearing PPE. The reader stores up to 3,000 test results, including a preserved scanned image of each test, on a microSD disc. It can be powered by 3 AA alkaline batteries, from main power or from a laptop PC via mini‑USB connection. NIDS SAR IV PC software provided with the system allows user to manage data, update firmware and change settings using the NIDS stand-alone reader PC software.
