Technical Information Rugged, field portable chemical agent detector Feature highlights • Detects blood, blister, choking and nerve agents, plus selected Toxic Industrial Chemicals • Provides visual and audible alarm both locally and at remote locations • Can be interfaced with a transmitter enabling remote, wireless detection and warning • Designed for use in vehicles and by dismounted troops The most widely fielded and battle proven detector in the world, GID-3 is highly portable, easy to use and rapidly deployed. As well as point detection, it can monitor the integrity of collective protective systems in vehicles, command bunkers and small ships. GID-3 detects and measures the concentration levels of Chemical Warfare agents and Toxic Industrial Chemicals (TICs). Operated remotely, the GID-3 provides perimeter protection either as a standalone unit, or networked together using hardwired or wireless systems. Vehicle-or ship-mounted, it can monitor contamination of the outside air or alert personnel to the presence of a chemical agent within the vehicle interior. Capabilities are extended even further, by the GID-3 Radio Alarm System, allowing a single operator to monitor multiple units in relative safety from a remote location. The GID-3 has been designed to withstand the harshest battlefield conditions.
