  • Operation Speed: 50 to 500 mm/sec (recommended speed controller usage)
  • Lubrication: Non-lube with rubber bumpers at both ends

2.2 Performance Parameters

  • Displacement Accuracy: Pitch moment (M1) ≤ 0.02 mm, Yaw moment (M2) ≤ 0.01 mm, Roll moment (M3) ≤ 0.25°
  • Parallel Traveling (No Load): ≤ 0.05 mm
  • Theoretical Force Output: Varies by bore size and pressure, e.g., at 0.7 MPa, 16 mm bore produces up to 141 N output
  • Maximum Load Weight: MXU6: 100 g, MXU10: 200 g, MXU16: 400 g
  • Allowable Moments: Detailed moment values (M1, M2, M3) provided per bore size and stroke length to ensure operational safety and accuracy

3. Construction and Materials

The MXU series is constructed with high-quality materials to ensure durability and precision:

  • Cylinder tube: Hard anodized aluminum alloy
  • Piston rod: Stainless steel with white chromate (for 16 mm bore)
  • Miniature linear guide: Aluminum alloy
  • Seals and gaskets: NBR and synthetic rubber
  • Other components: Brass, carbon steel, chrome molybdenum steel with appropriate plating for corrosion resistance

4. Auto Switch Options and Mounting

  • Various auto switch models are compatible, including reed and solid state switches with different wiring styles (2-wire, 3-wire NPN/PNP) and electrical ratings (DC 5V to 24V, AC up to 100V).
  • Auto switches can be mounted in multiple positions with specific mounting dimensions and torque specifications provided.
  • Minimum cylinder stroke requirements for mounting auto switches are specified to avoid malfunction.
  • Precautions for close proximity installation of auto switches are detailed to prevent unintended activation, including recommended shielding methods.

5. Mounting and Installation Guidelines

  • The MXU compact slide can be mounted in four directions (lateral, vertical, axial) with detailed bolt sizes and maximum tightening torques specified per bore size.
  • Workpieces can be mounted on two sides of the table; care must be taken to avoid excessive moments or impacts that could reduce accuracy.
  • Alignment and connection methods should ensure load support and guidance outside the cylinder to maintain precision.
  • Safety precautions emphasize avoiding finger injuries by not placing fingers in the clearance between the table and cylinder tube during operation.
  • Speed controllers should be used to limit piston speed to 500 mm/s or less.

6. Calculation of Allowable Forces and Moments

Formulas and tables are provided to calculate allowable forces (Fp, Fy, Fr) based on moment center position compensation and stroke length. These calculations help ensure the cylinder operates within safe mechanical limits.

7. Dimensional Data

Detailed dimensional tables for MXU6, MXU10, and MXU16 models include stroke-dependent parameters such as BS, LS, NS, S, Z, and TS, facilitating precise design and integration into machinery.

Critical Recommendations and Limitations

  • Operate within maximum load weights and allowable moments to maintain accuracy and prevent damage.
  • Apply output forces along the piston rod axial line to avoid undue stress.
  • Use speed controllers to regulate piston speed and prevent impact damage.
  • Ensure proper mounting torque and alignment to avoid accuracy degradation.
  • Follow safety instructions to prevent injury during handling and operation.

This structured summary captures the essential technical details, operational guidelines, and safety precautions for the Series MXU compact air slide table, supporting effective selection, installation, and maintenance in industrial automation applications.

Series MXU Compact Slide Mounting Work Mounting The compact slide can be mounted in four directions. Select the best direction according to the machine and work to be used. Work can be mounted on two sides of the compact slide. The table is supported by miniature linear guide. Be careful not to apply strong impacts or excessive moments when mounting work. When tightening the work on the table with bolts, it should be done while holding the table. If holding the body, it may cause more than allowable moment to the guide, leading to decrease in accuracy. Lateral mounting (Body through hole) Model...

Minimum cylinder stroke for mounting auto swicthes (mm) Auto Swicth Mounting Precautions for close proximity installation When compact slide cylinders equipped with D-A9* or D-M9* auto switches are used, the auto switches could activate unintentionally if the installed distance is less than the dimension shown in table [1]. Therefore, make sure to provide at least this much clearance. Due to unavoidable circumstances, if they must be used with less distance than the dimensions given in the table below, the cylinders must be shielded. Therefore, affix a steel plate or a magnetic shield plate (MU-S025)...
