Product catalog summary
Specifications
The NAMUR Interface 5 Port Solenoid Valve Series VFN2000N and VFN3000N are designed for use with air or inert gas. The maximum operating pressure for the VFN2000N is 0.9 MPa (130 PSI) and for the VFN3000N is 1.0 MPa. The minimum operating pressure for both series is 0.15 MPa (22 PSI). The ambient and fluid temperature range is from -10 to +60°C. Lubrication is not required, but if used, turbine oil Class1 (ISO VG32) is recommended. The valves feature a non-locking push type manual override and are dustproof. The port size is 1/4, and the cylinder ports should follow the NAMUR hole pattern.
Electrical Specifications
Both AC and DC options are available with an allowable voltage range of -15% to +10% of the rated voltage. The coil insulation is Class B or equivalent. The power consumption for DC is 1.8 W, while the apparent power for AC is 5.0 VA/60 Hz and 5.6 VA/50 Hz. Electrical entry options include grommet, grommet terminal, conduit terminal, and DIN terminal.
Flow Characteristics
The flow characteristics for the VFN2000N include a Cv factor of 0.85 for single and double solenoids, while the VFN3000N has a Cv factor of 1.56. The effective area and flow characteristics are detailed in the respective tables for each series.
Ordering Information
Various configurations are available, including options for light/surge voltage suppressors and different voltage ratings. The manual override is available in non-locking push type (flush or extended) and locking type (tool required). Thread types include Rc (PT), G (PF), and NPTF.
Installation and Maintenance
When installing, ensure the piping system is flushed to remove debris. Valves are pre-lubricated, and further lubrication is not necessary unless required for specific applications. The recommended lubricant is turbine oil #1 (ISO VG32). For safety, ensure easy disassembly and assembly of the piping system. Single acting valves can be mounted in any direction, but double solenoid valves should be aligned perpendicular to vibration.
Environmental and Safety Considerations
Protect the system from dust and corrosive environments. Ensure proper clamping torque and wiring connections. Leakage voltage should not exceed 20% for AC coils and 3% for DC coils. Only trained personnel should operate and maintain the equipment. Confirm safety before servicing or removing components.
Warnings and Precautions
Compatibility of pneumatic equipment is the responsibility of the system designer. Ensure safe locked-out control positions during maintenance. Contact SMC for use in conditions beyond specifications or in critical applications such as atomic energy or medical equipment.

Specific Product Precautions Be sure to read before handling. 1. When piping, please use I.D. equivalent to or larger than N.B. 2. Before piping, flush the system to remove dust, scale, chips, seal tape etc. in the pipe line both on the supply side (supply pressure port side) and secondary side (operation equipment port side). 3. For 3 position closed center, perfect check valve, check for leakage from piping and fittings in-between valve and cylinder by means of soapy water to ensure that there is no leakage. Also check the leakage from cylinder rod seal and piston seal. If there is any leakage,...
