5 Port Solenoid Valve/Cassette Type Manifold SZ

Product catalog summary
Overview
The document provides comprehensive technical specifications and guidelines for the Series SZ3000 solenoid valves and manifolds, including installation, maintenance, and ordering information. It covers both plug-in and non-plug-in types, wiring systems, and various configurations.
Specifications
The Series SZ3000 solenoid valves feature a high-speed response time of 10 ms, low power consumption of 0.6 W, and a service life exceeding 50 million cycles. They are designed for easy maintenance with built-in switches for individual valve power shut-off and a plug-in manifold system for quick valve replacement.
Ordering Information
The document details the ordering process for solenoid valves and manifolds, specifying options for pilot types, power supply terminals, connector types, and mounting positions. It includes part numbers and configurations for different station numbers and wiring specifications.
Manifold and Valve Options
Options include various connector types (D-sub, flat ribbon cable), CE-compliance, and special specifications. The document also details the manifold's flow characteristics, port sizes, and applicable connectors.
Installation and Maintenance
The manifold system allows for easy attachment and detachment of tubing, with a wide interval between ports for convenient fitting changes. The use of SUP/EXH block disks for managing pressure and exhaust within the manifold is described.
Additional Features
Additional features include a variety of actuation types (single, double, 3-position, 4-position), manual override options, and compatibility with different voltage specifications. The importance of matching manifold and valve specifications for optimal performance is emphasized.
Installation and Assembly Instructions
  • Ensure power and air supplies are shut off before disassembly. Confirm all air is exhausted from the actuator, piping, and manifold.
  • During assembly, ensure connections between blocks are secure to prevent air leakage. Check for gaps and confirm manifold blocks are fastened to the DIN rail before supplying air.
  • For manifolds with double wiring specifications, spare receptacle housings are included for expansion. Follow the specified method for disassembly and assembly during expansion.
Specifications and Dimensions
  • Detailed dimensions for both internal and external pilot manifolds are provided, including L1, L2, L3, and L4 measurements for various station numbers.
  • One-touch fittings are specified for different ports, with applicable tubing outer diameters provided.
  • Switches, light/surge voltage suppressors, and manual override options are detailed, with color coding for different sides (A side: Orange, B side: Green).
Key Considerations
  • Ensure all components are securely fastened to prevent air leakage and ensure proper operation.
  • Follow specified torque settings for screws to maintain assembly integrity.
  • Consider expansion capabilities and order appropriate spare parts if needed.
Procedures
  • Instructions for attaching and detaching connectors and lead wires are detailed, emphasizing safety precautions such as shutting off power and air supply before handling.
  • Manual override operations for solenoids are explained, including non-locking push types and push-turn locking slotted types.
Standards and Compliance
  • CE-compliance is noted for certain configurations, and specific product precautions are outlined to ensure safe handling and operation.
Recommendations
  • Use of common connector assemblies is recommended to reduce wiring complexity and improve efficiency.
  • Care is advised when changing connector entry directions to avoid damage to wires and connectors.
Key Diagrams and Tables
  • Tables provide detailed dimensions for manifold configurations, and diagrams illustrate connector assembly and wiring instructions.
  • Electric circuit diagrams are included to show normal operating conditions and switching mechanisms.
Critical Information
  • Ensure correct polarity when connecting lead wires to prevent reverse current issues.
  • Specific product precautions are highlighted, including the use of exhaust ports and the handling of solenoid valves as 3-port valves.
Tube Cutting and Installation
  • Use tube cutters TK-1, 2, or 3 for cutting tubes. Avoid using pinchers, nippers, or scissors to prevent diagonal cuts or flattening, which can lead to installation issues and air leakage.
  • Ensure the tube is inserted securely into the fitting and confirm by pulling lightly to check it does not come out.
Tube Detachment
  • Press the release button sufficiently and pull out the tube while holding the button down to avoid increased bite on the tube.
  • If reusing a tube, cut off any chewed portion to prevent air leakage or removal difficulties.
Specifications for Tubing
  • Ensure tubing meets specified outside diameter tolerances: Nylon and Soft Nylon within ±0.1 mm, Polyurethane within +0.15 mm and -0.2 mm.
  • Non-compliant tubes may cause connection issues or air leakage.
Valves with Built-in Back Pressure Check Valve
  • These valves protect back pressure inside a valve. Avoid pressurizing from the exhaust port [3(R)].
  • Do not switch valves when ports A or B are open to the atmosphere to prevent air leakage or malfunctions.
Fitting Assembly Replacement
  • To change connection diameters, remove the clip with a flat head screwdriver, replace the fitting assembly, and reinsert the clip.
  • Ensure O-rings are not damaged or contaminated to prevent air leakage.
  • Shut off power and air supplies before disassembly and confirm air is exhausted.
Flow Rate Calculation
  • Refer to front matters 42 to 45 for flow rate calculations.
  • Indicate changes in connection diameters for ports 1(P) and 3(R) on manifold specification sheets.

5 Port Solenoid Valve/Cassette Type Manifold SZ-1

5 Port Solenoid Valve Series Rubber Seal Cassette Type Manifold The plug-in cassette system makes valve replacement easy. A plug-in manifold has been created with a height of 43.5 mm (including DIN rail). Valve replacement can be performed easily. Moreover, since spare terminates for wiring (receptacle housings) are contained inside the manifold, terminal changes (additions) can be performed quickly and easily. (The number of additional stations is limited by the manifold specifications. For details, refer to page 773.) Valves equipped with switches Adjustment and maintenance of equipment can be performed with greater safety, since the power to each valve can be shut off individually with built-in switches. High speed response of 10 ms SZ3000 double, 0.5 MPa 24 VDC, Without surge voltage suppressor Low power consumption and a faster response time of 10 ms are obtained with a unique pilot valve construction. The connector entry direction can be VQ changed from top to side with a simple VQ4 operation. VQ5 Switch for locking a connector (Current draw: 25 mA at 24 VDC) Low power consumption enables direct operation by a PLC. Cost savings are realized through the use of a smaller power supply and the elimination of relay cards. Easy attaching/detaching of the tubing The interval between ports A and B is a wide 20.5 mm, allowing easy changes of fittings and tubing. C4/C6 One-touch fitting (Elbow type) Plug-in Type M5 port block assembly A port B port High reliability and long service life exceeding 50 million cycles or more High reliability and long service life have been achieved with guide ring construction which prevents eccentricity of the main valve, and a return piston with increased return force. (Single and double solenoid type)
