Fats, oils and grease (FOG) are a major problem in waste water discharge from process factories, often giving rise to blockages in the sewage networks and organic overload in treatment plants. Regulation dictates that FOG must not be discharged into the sewer network and traditionally this is prevented with the use of grease traps.
