Economy Friction Brake Raising the Load: Rotate the handwheel in a clockwise direction. If at any point you let go of the handwheel, the brake will automatically engage, locking the load in place. Lowering the Load: With a hand on the handle or by lightly applying pressure of your palm on the rim of the handwheel, gently ease back on the brake lever. This will release the hold of the brake allowing you to control the rate of descent. The brake will automatically re-engage when you let go of the brake lever.
