Functional Description: In SKF MonoFlex systems, the pump works with single-line distributors and a pressure switch to control lubrication cycles. In SKF ProFlex systems, it uses progressive feeders and optional piston detectors for function monitoring, distributing lubricant according to volume requirements.
Main Components: The pump housing is made of aluminum and contains the motor, drive shaft, and pump elements. Fill level monitoring is achieved through capacitive proximity switches, mechanical fill level switches, or cylinder switches.
Reservoir Types: Two types are available: one for stationary and one for rotary applications, with the latter including a patented grease follower plate system.
Control Units: The LC502 control unit manages single-line systems and monitors piston detectors in progressive systems. The IG502-2-I control unit manages pump operation and fill level monitoring for SKF ProFlex systems.
Control Unit Configuration: The control unit should be set with COP=CS when a piston detector signal is expected. Abbreviations include COP (Cycle Off Pressure), PS (Pressure-Switch), and CS (Cycle-Switch).
Runtimes and Interval Times: Runtimes for the IG502-2-I / LC502 control units range from 2 to 20 minutes, represented by letters A to Z. Interval times range from 0.5 to 9 hours.

Designs and Order Example: Provides an order example for a KFG piston pump unit, detailing components like the IG502-2-I Control Unit, reservoir capacity, and system voltage.
Technical Data: Includes weight, operating temperature, lubricant compatibility, and electrical connection details. The pump elements have specific delivery rates and maximum back pressures.
Accessories: Includes filler couplings, manual drum pumps, and filling cylinders. Specific order numbers are provided for each accessory.
Pressure Gauges: Describes pressure gauges made of copper alloys suitable for dynamic pressure loads and vibrations. Order numbers are provided for pressure gauges ranging from 0 to 250 bar and 0 to 400 bar.
IG502-2-E External Control Unit: Controls the KFG pump's operation and monitors lubricant reservoir levels, compatible only with SKF ProFlex systems.
KFG Piston Pump Unit Accessories: Includes a retaining ring, drilling template, and electrical accessories like a T plug. Order numbers are provided.
KFG Special Designs: The KFGC variant integrates a CAN bus control unit for system monitoring and parameter evaluation. Sea water-resistant versions are available with corrosion protection.
Spare Parts and Exploded Views: Detailed listings of spare parts, including pump elements and connectors, are provided with order numbers. Emphasizes using only original SKF parts and outlines warranty conditions.
Additional Information: Includes contact details for SKF Lubrication Systems Germany GmbH and references to further leaflets for additional product information.

KFG piston pump unit Introduction The KFG pump unit is an electrically driven piston pump. Its core is comprised of a drive shaft with an eccentric that drives up to three pump elements. Various designs make it possible to accommodate this sturdy and proven principle of operation to different circumstances. The pump is comprised of four main components: Housing with pump elements, reservoir with fill level monitoring, internal control units and attachments. The housing integrates the motor, the drive shaft with an eccentric and up to three pump elements for delivering the lubricant. Positively...

KFG piston pump unit Main components Pump housing The housing of the KFG pump unit is made of sturdy aluminum. Integrated within are the electric motor, the power supply unit (only with 230 V AC variant), the drive shaft with eccentric and one to three pump elements. The eccentric converts the rotational movement into a stroke movement of the pump element. The pump element pushes out lubricant during its forward movement and suctions in new lubricant from the lubricant reservoir during its retraction movement. In the design for the vehicle and industry sector, the lubricant reservoir is filled...

KFG piston pump unit Main components Reservoir Two different reservoir types exist for the KFG pump unit: one for stationary and one for rotary application. A grease follower plate system patented by SVK is to be found in the lubricant reservoir of the units for rotary application. A spiral spring assembly is attached to the grease follower plate. This presses the follower plate onto the lubricant. As a result, the lubricant is always available at the pump element, independent of the position of the unit. The filling of this reservoir variant is carried out through a quickaction coupling on the...

KFG piston pump unit Main components Internal control unit IG502-2-I The control unit IG502-2-I with control display can be integrated in the pump housing and controls the turning on and off of the KFG pump by means of interval times and pump runtimes. It enables the fill level monitoring of the lubricant reservoir and the evaluation of a piston detector signal (setting of the control unit when a signal is expected from the piston detector during the runtimes: COP=CS). It is suitable exclusively for the monitoring of SKF ProFlex systems. Note Legend of the abbreviations for the programming of...

KFG piston pump unit Main components Pressure restriction valve max. 130 In order to prevent an excessive operating pressure in the system, a pivoted pressure restriction valve should be attached. If the operating pressure exceeds the cracking pressure of the pressure restriction valve, then the valve will open and the lubricant can escape. The pressure restriction valve is used primarily in progressive systems. One can select among variants with SKF plug connectors, straight connector and with G 1/4" female thread. Pressure relief valve with integrated pressure restriction valve The valve offers...
