6.4 MEASURING THE OPERATING TEMPERATURE > Wherever possible, suitable instruments should be used to measure the externaltemperature of the gearbox housing. As, under regular operating conditions the temperature inside the gearbox increases 15 - 20 C compared to the outside temperature, the housing normally becomes too hot to touch.
