Product catalog summary
Key Features:
  • Anti-cavitation option for high pressure drop situations.
  • Available in globe and angle styles.
Product Overview:

The 106-PG series control valve is hydraulically operated and suitable for applications such as pressure, flow, or level control. It ensures precise water control by managing water in the control chamber above the diaphragm. Customization options are available for specific needs.

Main Valves:
  • Constructed with ASTM A536 ductile iron and AISI 316 stainless steel components.
  • Features include a removable stem cap, EPDM diaphragm, and NSF 61 fusion bonded epoxy coating.
Valve Sizes & Materials:

Available in ductile and stainless steel, with sizes from 1/2 inch to 36 inches for globe style and 1 inch to 12 inches for angle style. Components can be upgraded to stainless steel for enhanced durability.

Selection & Operation:

Automatic control valves require a pressure differential to operate, typically needing a minimum of 10 psi pressure drop. Designed for clean potable water, with options for other media available upon consultation.

Available Options:
  • Position indicators, limit switch assemblies, and position transmitters.
  • Anti-cavitation trim to control cavitation and reduce noise.
Ordering Instructions:

Refer to page 244 for the order form and instructions.

Technical Data:

Detailed dimensions, flow capacities, and pressure ratings are provided for both US and metric units. Valves are rated up to 400 psi as standard, with options for 600 psi upon request.

Specifications:

Detailed specifications for globe and angle valves include dimensions, flow capacities, pressure ratings, and temperature limits. Valves are available in various sizes, with specific measurements for width, height, valve stroke, and displaced bonnet volume. Maximum pressure ratings are specified for different standards (BSPT, PN16, PN25), with a consistent maximum operating temperature of 82°C across all models.

Dimensions:

Common dimensions for both globe and angle valves are provided, with specific measurements for width, height to stem cap, and body port tapping sizes. Detailed lay lengths and centerline measurements are included for different pressure standards (PN10/PN16 and PN25/PN40).

Flow Capacities:

Flow capacities are detailed for both globe and angle configurations, with Kv values provided for each size. The document distinguishes between continuous, intermittent, and momentary flow capacities, offering specific values for each scenario.

Pressure Ratings:

Maximum pressure ratings are provided for ductile materials, with specific bar ratings for PN16 and PN25 standards. Valves are rated and stamped at 27.6 bar as standard, with an option for 41 bar upon request.

Additional Information:

Additional engineering notes and pilot system information are available on specific pages. Models 106-PG and 206-PG are highlighted as single chamber, hydraulically operated valves.

MODELS 106-PG / S106-PG-1

MAIN VALVES MODELS 106-PG / S106-PG SINGLE CHAMBER, HYDRAULICALLY OPERATED VALVE KEY FEATURES • Anti-cavitation option is ideal for high pressure drop situations • Available in globe and angle style PRODUCT OVERVIEW The 106-PG series control valve is designed to suit a large variety of applications such as pressure, flow or level control. This hydraulically operated valve introduces or releases water from the control chamber above the diaphragm to effectively maintain accurate water control Refer to Main Valve Options on page 62 and Pilots & Accessories on page 207 to further customize the valve to suit specific applications. NSF 61 Fusion Bonded Epoxy Coating 1 Automatic control valves operate by introducing or exhausting water from above the diaphragm at controlled rates. A pressure differential is required and is either inlet to outlet or inlet to atmosphere, depending on the application. Valves are sized to provide an appropriate pressure drop for each application. Most valves require a minimum of 10 psi / 0.7 bar pressure drop to operate. This applies mostly to valves that have the bonnet vented to downstream. With minimum of 5 psi / 0.35 bar downstream pressure, many valves can be made to open fully by venting the bonnet to atmosphere. Singer control valves are designed for use with clean potable water. Applications for other media are possible. Consult with Singer Valve.

MODELS 106-PG / S106-PG SINGLE CHAMBER, HYDRAULICALLY OPERATED VALVE Careful consideration of the possibility of cavitation must be given. Anti-cavitation trim is available to control the cavitation, reduce noise and prevent damage. Refer to 106-AC (page 78) or consult with Singer Valve. The 106-PG single chambered valve is the basic valve used in practically every model bearing the 106 description. The pilot systems are designed to meet the functional and performance requirements of specific applications. Sizing is ultimately determined by the specific application. AVAILABLE OPTIONS Further...
