Cassette Seals | Simmerring Cassette Seal Type 1 (FKM) Simmerring Cassette Seal Typ 1 Product description Complete unit consisting of a Simmerring and an integrated running surface. Economical system solution with integrated labyrinth to protect against extreme soiling. The integrated running surface meets the high demands placed Product advantages ■ Lengthening of maintenance interval for individual units ■ Shaft must not be hardened or ground ■ Old solution can usually be replaced by Simmerring Cassette Seal without change to housing ■ The shaft must not be machined on maintenance or seal Product properties ■ Design: special types, on enquiry ■ Outer casing: elastomer/sheet metal ■ Additional dust lips ■ high resistance to dirt ingress These examples of use provide general information on the pri- mary applications for Simmerring Cassette Seals and their per- formance in relation to dirt from the outside. Simmerring Cassette Seals (types 1, 2 or 3) must be selected taking into account the application conditions (shaft speed, oil temperature, etc.). ■ Propeller shafts*, hubs and pinions on axles of commercial vehicles (lorries, buses, trailers, special vehicles) ■ Pinions on axles of construction machinery (road rollers, excavators, fork-lift trucks, mixers) and agricultural machinery ■ Power take-off drives of construction machinery (road rollers, excavators, fork-lift trucks, mixers) * With axial shaft movement, special design necessary Fluoro elastomer Operating conditions For material definitions, it must be taken into account that it is possible that not all extreme conditions will occur simultaneously. Fitting & installation Housing bore Careful fitting according to DIN 3760 is a prerequisite for the correct function of the seal -* Technical Manual. Further information on enquiry.
