Typical applications are generator base tanks, generator day tanks, and small bulk storage tanks to 2000 gallons. Joe Filter is fully portable and self-contained. Joe is easily moved at the job-site by one person using his built-in wheels and handle and can be off-loaded from a service truck via a lift-gate or ramp. Joe Filter provides complete fuel ltration and conditioning with his built-in 5-micron, spin-on particulate lter and 2 PPM water coalescing and separating lter. A 6-gallon holding tank is included for draining of the separation canister. Joe includes a 7 GPM, cast-iron, high-lift pump and pump control panel. Water detection, lter differential pressure and holding tank full alarms are provided. A selection of hoses and wands are supplied with Joe Filter. The service tech need only access the tank through an available port and insert the suction and return hose/wand. The circulation pump can then be run continuously until the tech is satised with fuel condition. Typically, at least one-quarter of the tank is circulated, drawing from the tank sump. The pump will automatically stop and an alarm will be activated if the water collection canister lls or the particulate lter differential pressure limit is reached. The tech can then either drain the collection sump or replace the particulate lter and resume ltration. Insight Onsite With modern diesel engines, fuel quality is paramount and poor fuel quality is a prime cause of generator set unreliability. Joe Filter is the ideal eld service assistant for the multitude of generator sets equipped with integral base tanks or day tanks where fuel has been stored long-term and may have degraded from water and particulate contamination and the resultant growth of algae and bacteria and rust formation. Contact Simplex today to recruit Joe to your eld service team. ®

Most fuel contaminants will settle from still fuel resulting in a stratication of fuel with contaminants concentrated in the lower strata. Therefore, it is necessary to circulate and lter the lower 25-33% of the tank contents. Using the included wands and hoses, Joe will draw fuel from the bottom of the tank and return fuel into the upper portion with minimal disturbance of the settled strata resulting in good ltration performance and removal of contaminants and water.
