Vacuum deaerator

Product catalog summary
Introduction
The document provides technical details about the Vacuum Deaerator Series VA 1B – VA 11B, designed for district heating plants. These units are used to remove oxygen from circulating water to prevent corrosion.

Application
The vacuum deaerator is essential for treating circulating water in heating plants. It reduces the oxygen content from 8-10 mg/l to under 0.2 mg/l, minimizing corrosion risks.

Theory of Operation
The process involves preheating the oxygen-containing make-up water to 40-90 °C and introducing it to the deaeration tank. The tank uses fillers to divide the water into fine particles. A vacuum pump creates a vacuum, causing the water to boil and release oxygen, which is then removed. The deaerated water is split between the heating network and recycling over the tank.

Plant Arrangement
The system comprises three main components: the deaeration tank, vacuum pump unit, and pump unit.
  • Deaeration Tank: Made of galvanized or stainless steel, equipped with an intermediate bottom and fillers, and includes level control switches.
  • Vacuum Pump Unit: Features a liquid ring pump and valve arrangement for cooling water and vacuum force adjustment.
  • Pump Unit: Includes a centrifugal pump and a pipe system with valves for water quantity control, available in galvanized or stainless steel.

Specifications
The document lists specifications for different models (VA 1B to VA 11B), detailing flow rates and space requirements:
  • VA 1B: 2 m³/h, Height: 5.5 m, Width: 0.8 m, Length: 2.5 m
  • VA 3B: 6 m³/h, Height: 5.6 m, Width: 1.0 m, Length: 2.7 m
  • VA 5B: 10 m³/h, Height: 5.6 m, Width: 1.1 m, Length: 2.9 m
  • VA 7B: 14 m³/h, Height: 5.6 m, Width: 1.2 m, Length: 3.1 m
  • VA 9B: 18 m³/h, Height: 5.6 m, Width: 1.3 m, Length: 3.3 m
  • VA 11B: 22 m³/h, Height: 5.7 m, Width: 1.4 m, Length: 3.4 m

APPLICATION A vacuum deaerator is used for treatment of circulating water in heating plants. The circulating water should not contain oxygen as this increases the risk of corrosion on the system. The oxygen is dissolved in the make-up water and thereby enters the tank together with the make-up water, which normally contains 8-10 mg/l oxygen. The oxygen content can be reduced to under 0.2 mg/l with a vacuum deaerator. THEORY OF OPERATION The oxygen-containing make-up water, preheated to 40-90 °C, is led to the upper section of the deaeration tank. In order to optimize the removal of oxygen, the...
