Overview: The document describes the Silex System, a water treatment solution designed for producing high-quality demineralized water. It is particularly suited for low water consumption scenarios and offers a simple, space-saving installation without the use of chemicals.
System Description: The Silex System utilizes service regeneration performed by the EUROWATER regeneration center. Ion exchangers are regenerated and provided in cartridges, which can be easily exchanged to ensure continuous operation. The system is clean and efficient, providing demineralized water by exchanging dissolved salts with hydrogen and hydroxyl ions.
Applications: Silex water is used as an alternative to distilled water, ideal for small water consumption needs. The system avoids the high costs and labor associated with on-site regeneration and the handling of corrosive liquids.
Types of Silex Systems:- Silex Type I B: Designed for wall mounting, suitable for installations without pressure or with waterworks pressure up to 6 bar.
- Silex Type II B: Made for installations with waterworks pressure, also supporting up to 6 bar. Requires PVC or acid-proof stainless steel for connections.
Control Equipment: The system includes an electronic conductivity meter to monitor water quality. It can be equipped with or without an alarm signal to indicate when cartridge replacement is necessary.
Service Regeneration: Exhausted cartridges are returned to the regeneration center for chemical treatment and quality control. This process involves separation, treatment with hydrochloric acid and sodium hydroxide, rinsing, mixing, and packing.
Water Quality: The conductivity of Silex water is approximately 0.1 µS/cm for 60% of its capacity, with the remaining 40% below 5 µS/cm. This indicates a high level of demineralization.
Specifications:- Type I B: Basic capacity of 5,400 liters at 1°GH, flow rate of 2 l/min, maximum pressure of 6 bar, height of 940 mm, length of 230 mm, and cartridge weight of 5 kg.
- Type II B: Basic capacity of 19,000 liters at 1°GH, flow rate of 5 l/min, maximum pressure of 6 bar, height of 950 mm, length of 300 mm, and cartridge weight of 20 kg.
Conductivity Meters:- Type ST 3: Without alarm, measuring range 0-50 µS/cm.
- Type ST 16: With quality limit and alarm, measuring range 0-100 µS/cm.
