Motor Exhaust Silencers
SMd40 silencers utilize a mixed Reactive-Absorbent design. The gas enters through a double expansion chamber with a venturi-type coupling device and then passes through an absorption silencer.
The silencer's designation includes the nominal inlet diameter (e.g., SMd40 DN125). It features a radial or axial inlet and an axial output. Constructed from steel, the silencer has a cylindrical shape with conical or pumped ends. It can withstand a maximum working pressure of 4900 Pa and a temperature of 500 ºC. The silencer is coated with high-temperature finish paint but is not designed for pressures and temperatures from fuel explosions.
Optional accessories include flanges, counter flanges, gaskets, screws, supports, and a spark extinction chamber. For special requirements like temperatures above 500 ºC or diameters over 800 mm, contact the manufacturer.
The average sound dimming curve is measured under normal conditions, eliminating background noise, and complies with ISO 6798 standards.
1. Install SMd40 silencers close to the engine, respecting the flow direction.
2. Use an expansion compensator.
3. Employ vertical supports.
4. Connect to the exhaust manifold.
The silencer's fixing system must allow for free expansion.
Dimensions are provided with a length tolerance of ± 3 mm. The table includes measurements in mm and weight in kg for various diameters (DN) ranging from 50 to 800 mm.
