Please refer to the technical data sheet of Silcrete SSI PRIM for more information. Mix the material by using a mixing machine. First, add the required amount of water per 25 kg powder material into the mixing container. Then, pour Silcrete MURDESIGN inside while stirring. For applications with a hand-held mixer the Collomix mixing paddle KR 140 HF is recommended. By using the respective mixing paddle a proper thread adapter must be used if necessary. For mixing of partial quantities in smaller containers the mixing paddle KR 90 S for drilling machines is recommended. The material has to be mixed intensely for 2 minutes, left to set for 2 minutes, and then mixed again for 1 more minute. Mix only as much material as can be applied within 30 minutes. After mixing, apply Silcrete MURDESIGN to the intended thickness . The surface has to be protected from too quick drying (solar radiation, draft) for the 1st 24 hours. Do not cover the finished surface with foils or other materials. Prior to coating, ensure that the surface is stable and has sufficient surface tensile strength. The surface should also be ready for coating, dry or matt damp, clean and free from all kinds of debris. Mechanical surface preparation e.g. shotblasting is recommended. Due to roughening the surface, the adhesion for the subsequent layer can be improved. Deeper ruptures must be filled with Silcrete MR 005. The surface should be permanently vibration-free and crack-free. Already existing cracks must be repaired professionally. For highly absorbent substrates the surface has to be dried for 2 hours after priming with Silcrete SSI PRIM. By priming the surface, the absorbency of the substrate is adjusted. This avoids rising of air bubbles during the subsequent coating. In order to guarantee this on Crack-sensitive substrates and dry construction For crack-sensitive substrates or for the use in dry construction insert suitable fabric tapes or reinforcement fabrics during application of Silcrete MURDESIGN. In case of flat installations of reinforcements fabrics Silcrete MURDESIGN is mixed in a suitable consistency. The material is applied with a toothed trowel. Insert the reinforcement fabric into the fresh mortar by pressing with a trowel. The mesh surface is pressed into the mortar bed from inside to outside. Smoothen all mortar residues which get pressed through the mesh. For complete covering of the reinforcement fabric a second layer of Silcrete MURDESIGN is applied wet-in-wet. The edges of all mesh panels must overlap by about 10 cm. For filling

Afterwards the respective fabric tape is positioned above the joint and smoothed with a trowel. For complete covering of the fabric tape a second layer of Silcrete MURDESIGNis applied wet-in-wet.
