Product Data Sheet Version 02 / 2011 Sika® Release LG Areas of Application Product Benefits Sika Release LG is designed to release all types epoxy, phenolic, polyester (GRP) or vinyl ester resins from composite, steel or aluminum moulds No release of polyurethane resins possible ® Easy, fast application High slip, easy release Durable, provides multiple releases per application High heat resistance Minimal mould build-up No shaking or mixing required Advanced polymeric resin in a non-chlorinated organic solvent blend, clear, low viscosity Processing Data Density Consumption Flash point Heat distortion temperature Packaging Individual components The material, processing and substrate temperature must be from 18 to 25°C. Mould cleaning and release agent application should be performed in a well ventilated area. The mould surfaces must be clean, dry, free of dust and grease before release. Laquer and sealer coatings should be dried resp. cured. For removing of wax residues we recommend Sika® Mold Cleaner. Sika® Release LG can be applied at mould temperatures up to 50°C. Method of application: 1. Apply Sika® Release LG to clean, dry cotton cloth. 2. Wipe wet cloth over mould surface covering an area of approximately 0.5m². Vigorous rubbing or poli shing is not required. 3. Repeat steps 1 and 2 on the adjacent area, frequently reapplying the product to the cloth. Ensure a good overlap with the previous area to provide complete coverage. 4. Repeat until mould is completely coated. 5. When dry, allow a further 15 minutes between coats for the film to cure. 6. Repeat steps 1-5 above for a further 3 coats (4 in total). 7. When dry, allow final film to cure for at least 30 minutes at room temperature before moulding. Allowing a longer cure or heat curing (e.g. 15 min at 60°C) will improve film durability. 8. When release becomes less easy, apply one further coat of Sika® Release LG in the same way as described above. Tooling & Composites Semipermanent release agent, free of silicones and halogenes

Containers must be tightly closed immediately after use to prevented moisture ingress. The remaining material has to be used up as soon as possible, because the polymeric resin in Sika ® Release LG reacts with moisture.
