Product catalog summary
Product Overview: SikaBlock® M650 is a model board used in tooling and composites. It is characterized by high dimensional stability, good compressive strength, and high heat distortion temperature. The board is made from polyurethane and is reddish-brown in color.
Physical Properties: The board has a density of 0.58 g/cm³, a Shore hardness of D 58, flexural strength of 18 MPa, and a compressive strength of 17 MPa at 10% strain. It also features an E-Modulus of 700 MPa, impact resistance of 5 kJ/m², and a heat distortion temperature of 85°C.
Processing Data: The adhesive and filler used are Biresin® Kleber braun and Biresin® Spachtel braun, respectively. The mixing ratio is 100:65 for adhesive and 100:2 for filler. Pot life is 20 minutes for adhesive and 5 minutes for filler, with setting times of 8-10 hours and over 20 minutes, respectively.
Applications: SikaBlock® M650 is suitable for data control models, master models in tool and mold construction, molds for low-pressure reaction injection molding, and vacuum forming molds for lower production volumes.
Product Benefits: The board offers easy machinability, low dust formation when milled, and a dense fine surface that is good for varnishing. It also has good solvent resistance and edge stability.
Processing Instructions: The material should be acclimatized to 18-25°C before machining. Bonding areas must be clean and free of contaminants. For milling, consult cutting tool manufacturers or specific leaflets.
Storage and Disposal: The product has an unlimited shelf life when stored flat and dry. Disposal should be in accordance with regulations, and packaging can be recycled if completely emptied.
Legal Notice: All technical data are based on laboratory tests, and actual data may vary. Users must test the product's suitability for their specific application. Sika reserves the right to change product properties.
