Biresin® U1419

Product catalog summary
Areas of Application
Biresin® U1419 is used for manufacturing tough-hard and flexible prototype parts, as well as abrasion and impact-stressed mouldings in production facilities.
Product Benefits
The resin simulates soft-PVC, PE, and rubber, cures quickly with good flowability, and is tough-hard with high tear strength and rebound elasticity. It is dyeable with Biresin® -Farbpasten.
Description
Biresin® U1419 is a two-component PUR system consisting of a polyol resin and an MDI-based isocyanate hardener. The resin is yellowish-transparent, and the hardener is amber.
Processing Data
The resin has a viscosity of ~3,500 mPas and density of 1.06 g/cm³, while the hardener has a viscosity of ~180 mPas and density of 1.23 g/cm³. The mixing ratio is 100 parts resin to 16 parts hardener by weight. The mixed viscosity is ~2,700 mPas, with a pot life of 6-7 minutes and a demoulding time of over 60 minutes at 70°C.
Physical Data
The cured product is yellowish-transparent with a density of 1.1 g/cm³, Shore hardness of A 98 (D 54), tensile strength of 25 MPa, elongation at break of 375%, tear strength of 68 N/mm, and abrasion resistance of 90 mm³.
Packaging
Available in packages containing 6 x 1.0 kg net resin and 6 x 0.16 kg net hardener, or individually as 10 kg net resin and 1.6 kg net hardener.
Processing Instructions
Material temperature should be 18-25°C. Stir the resin thoroughly before use, and both components should be under vacuum before mixing. Pour into preheated moulds at 70°C, then cure in an oven at the same temperature.
Storage
Minimum shelf life is 6 months at 18-25°C in unopened containers. Crystallisation at low temperatures can be reversed by warming to 70°C. Containers should be tightly closed after use.
Health and Safety
Refer to Material Safety Data Sheets for information on transportation, handling, storage, and disposal.
Disposal
Dispose of product in special waste disposal units. Recycle completely emptied packaging; otherwise, dispose of as product waste.

■ The material temperature must be 18 - 25°C. ■ The resin component must be stirred thoroughly before use. ■ Both components must be under vacuum for several minutes before mixing in right mixing ratio and poured into preheated moulds (70°C). ■ After complete filling of the moulds, vacuum is switched off and moulds are placed in an oven at 70°C for curing until demoulding. ■ Minimum shelf life is 6 month under room condition (18 - 25°C), when stored in original un-opened ■ After prolonged storage at low temperature, crystallisation of components may occur. This is easily removed by warming up...
