Composite Resin System Overview
Biresin® CR170 is a two-component epoxy resin system designed for RTM processing at elevated temperatures, specifically 60°C. It is suitable for applications requiring higher processing temperatures.

Physical and Mechanical Data

Density at 25°C: Resin - 1.14 g/ml, Hardener - 0.96 g/ml.
Potlife: 90 minutes for 250 g/RT.
Mixed viscosity at 25°C: Approximately 1,250 mPas.
Mechanical properties include a flexural E-Modulus of 2,750 MPa and tensile strength of 69 MPa.

Thermal Data

Glass transition temperature: 172°C after specified curing conditions.

Packaging and Storage

Available upon request.
Minimum shelf life: 24 months for resin, 12 months for hardener under room conditions.
Crystallization may occur at low temperatures but can be resolved by warming up to 80°C.

Processing Instructions

Material and processing temperatures should be at least 40°C.
Precuring of at least 3 hours at 60°C is recommended before demoulding.
Post curing of 4 hours at 160°C is necessary to achieve desired mechanical and thermal properties.
Use Sika Reinigungsmittel 5 for cleaning tools immediately after use.
