Product catalog summary
Product Introduction
The Siglent RBSSA3X20 is designed for use with SIGLENT’s SSA3000X series spectrum analyzers to measure S11-related parameters such as return loss, reflection coefficient, and VSWR. It includes 2 N(M)-N(M) adapters for easy connection to the SSA3000X ports. The reflection bridge features three ports: IN(TG) for signal input, OUT(RF) for signal output, and DUT for the Device Under Test. The design ensures accurate measurements by matching the distance between the SSA3000X’s TG and Input ports with the RBSSA3X20.
Measurement Procedure
  1. Connection: Use the provided adapters to connect the tracking generator and RF input terminal of the spectrum analyzer to the IN and OUT terminals of the reflection bridge.
  2. Measurement:
    • Activate Reflection Measurement mode by pressing Mode->Reflection Meas. The Tracking Generator will activate.
    • Adjust spectrum analyzer parameters such as Frequency, Amplitude, and BW as needed.
    • Connect the DUT terminal with an open load or leave it unterminated, then press Cal Open Load for calibration.
    • Connect the device under test to the DUT terminal, ensuring minimal cable length to reduce mismatches. The screen will display the return loss of the device.
    • Use Markers to analyze specific points, displaying frequency, return loss, reflection coefficient, and VSWR. Adjust the Scale and Ref level for optimal viewing.
    • Exit Reflection Measurement Mode by pressing Mode->Spec Analyzer.

Siglent RBSSA3X20 Reflection Bridge Instructions-1

SIGLENT TECHNOLOGIES User Manual Product Introduction RBSSA3X20 Reflection Bridge Instructions The Siglent RBSSA3X20 is used in connection with SIGLENT's SSA3000X series of spectrum analyzers to measure Sll-related parameters such as return loss, reflection coefficient and VSWR. The RBSSA3X20 also provide 2 N(M)-N(M) adapters to facilitate connection with SSA3000X's ports. The reflection bridge has 3 ports as shown in the figure: -IN(TG):Signal input terminal. This terminal connects to the TG terminal of -OUT(RF):Signal output terminal. This terminal connects to the RF input terminal of the spectrum analyzer -DUT: This port is connected to the Device Under Test The distance between the SSA3000X's TG and Input ports is designed to match that on the RBSSA3X20 in order to improve accuracy by eliminating the need for extra hook-up cables. Refleclion Bridge Measurement Procedure The connection of RBSSA3X20 and spectrum analyzer is shown in the Use 2 N(M)-N(M) adapters to connectthe output terminal of the tracking generator and the RF input terminal I of the spectrum analyzer to the IN terminal and OUT terminal of the reflection bridge respectively. 1) Press Mode->Reflection Meas, to access the Reflection Measurement mode. The Tracking Generator Tracking Generator indicator light will activate and the screen will appear as below: Reflection Table Disconnect the DUT before press the "Cal Open Load', Connectthe DUT when the "Cal Open Load' pressed. 2) In the Reflection Measurement mode the user can modify certain spectrum analyzer parameters such as Frequency, Amplitude, and BW, in those related menus.
