CONVOLUTED ABSORBER APC

CONVOLUTED ABSORBER APC

Product catalog summary
Overview: The document provides technical specifications and usage guidelines for the APC range of convoluted absorbers, which are made from carbon-impregnated polyurethane foam. These absorbers are designed for use in anechoic or semi-anechoic chambers to create quiet zones across wide frequency bands.
Specifications:
  • Material: Polyurethane foam with 90% open cells, impregnated with carbon, binder, and fire retardant.
  • Colors: Available in black, white, blue, green, red, with other colors available upon request.
  • Paint: Plastic coated for class 100,000 clean rooms or external use.
  • Temperature Range: -70°C to 160°C.
  • Power Handling: Maximum of 0.2 W/cm² continuous wave (CW).
  • Fire Resistance: Complies with NRL 8093 (Tests 1, 2, 3), ISO 11925-2, and DIN 4102 (class B2).
Dimensions and Types:
  • APC 8: Total height 80 mm, weight 1.3 kg.
  • APC 10: Total height 100 mm, weight 1.5 kg.
  • APC 15: Total height 150 mm, weight 2.3 kg.
All types have a base length of 610 mm ±3 mm and are designed for easy installation using Neoprene glue.
Reflectivity Performance: The absorbers provide excellent impedance matching for centimetre and millimetre wavelengths, with high angles of incidence. Minimum reflectivity values are provided for various frequencies, with better performance at higher frequencies.
Usage Guidelines: APC absorbers can be affixed to flat surfaces using Neoprene glue applied with a brush or pneumatic spray gun. They are suitable for high-frequency anechoic chambers due to their impedance matching capabilities.

CONVOLUTED ABSORBER APC-1

APC is a range of absorbers with convoluted shape, consisting of blocks of carbon-impregnated polyurethane foam. APC absorbers are used for equipping anechoic or semianechoic chambers. This cladding makes it possible to obtain quiet zone in very wide frequency bands. REFLECTIVITY PERFORMANCES APC absorbers provide very good impedance matching in centimetre and millimetre wavelengths and with high angles of incidence. This characteristic makes them very suitable for use in high frequency anechoic chambers. MINIMUM REFLECTIVITY OF APC in dB For incidence angles close to the normal Height (mm) All rights reserved. Information presented in this document are subject to modifications MAIN CHARACTERISTICS Matrix: polyurethane foam with 90% open cells. Impregnating agents: carbon, binder, fire retardant. Colours: black, white, blue, green, red (other colours by request). Paint: plastic coated for class 100 000 clean rooms or for external. Maximum service temperatures: - 70° C and 160° C.
