The Volcano Bootloader is a standalone program for updating ECU software via the CAN network, requiring flash memory. It is used for:

• Updating ECU software during service without dismounting, reducing aftermarket costs.
• Reconfiguring or programming ECUs during manufacturing or service, minimizing stock requirements.
• Downloading software and application data during development to expedite testing.

The Bootloader is divided into:

• Primary Bootloader (PBL): Resides in a protected boot sector, executes after reset, and downloads the Secondary Bootloader (SBL).
• Secondary Bootloader (SBL): Manages flash memory programming and software downloads.

Integration is simplified as the Volcano Bootloader is a standalone executable. It requires mapping the interrupt vector table and reserving the flash segment.
