The MAJIC architecture is designed to simplify target board bring-up and support. This is accomplished by independent layering of debugger software interface APIs, internal firmware tailored to individual cores, and pre-configured target support files for each reference design independent from debugger and operating system choices. Several standard JTAG cables complete the target connection, so a single probe can easily support multiple processors, architectures, and software environments, out of box. MAJIC probes from Mentor Graphics have evolved over the years toward one single goal: To enable bring-up of new target platforms quickly and easily with the best technology possible, and with the greatest degree of confidence. Supports Multiple Software Environments MAJIC probes include multiple shared libraries and executables along with support for industry standard debugger APIs. As a result, one JTAG probe is able to support multiple software environments. Easy Transition from Processor Reference Designs to OEM Board Designs Mentor’s MAJIC probes include a set-up wizard, templates, and target initialization files so moving from the reference design to your target system is straightforward.
