FNS® PLUS

Product catalog summary
Introduction
The document discusses the FNS Plus fiberglass diatomaceous earth (D.E.) filter by Pentair, designed to deliver crystal-clear pool water by removing microscopic contaminants as small as 5 microns.

Specifications
The FNS Plus filters feature curved vertical grids to maximize filtration area, enhancing dirt-trapping capacity and extending the time between cleanings. The internal design minimizes flow restrictions, reducing the pumping power required and lowering utility costs. The tank is made from chemical-resistant, fiberglass-reinforced polypropylene for durability.

Design and Maintenance
The filter is designed for easy maintenance with a removable filter grid pack. It includes a High Flow™ Manual Air Relief Valve and continuous internal air relief to maintain efficient filtration and prevent overpressurization. The filter also has a conveniently located 1½" drain for efficient cleanout.

Performance
The FNS Plus filter is available in various models with different filter areas and flow rates. For example, the FNSP 24 model has a filter area of 24 square feet and a flow rate of 48 GPM, with a turnover capacity of 23,040 gallons in 8 hours.

Operation
When D.E. is introduced into the filter system, it coats the filter cloth, capturing suspended dirt particles as water passes over the grids. Cleaning is performed by reversing the water flow.

Certifications and Availability
The filter is certified to NSF/ANSI Standard 50 and is available from Pentair, a company with over 40 years of pool filter experience.

FNS® PLUS-1

FNS® PLUS FIBERGLASS D.E. FILTER THE FILTER THAT DELIVERS CRYSTAL CLARITY Filtering with diatomaceous earth (D.E.) gives you water that really sparkles. That’s because D.E. filters remove the tiniest of contaminants—particles as small as 5 microns (an average grain of sand is 1,000 microns). Even though these particles can’t be seen individually, collectively they greatly affect water clarity. Here’s why D.E. filters work so well. Water passes through a series of D.E.-coated grids. Under a microscope, D.E. looks like a collection of tiny sponges. And just like a sponge, water can pass through, but microscopic impurities like dirt, algae and some forms of bacteria can’t. FNS Plus filters have been designed with curved grids to maximize filtration area. More filter area means better performance and longer periods between cleanings. Our internal design has been refined to minimize flow restrictions and, therefore, requires minimal pumping power to achieve a needed flow rate. That means lower utility costs. In addition to providing the clearest water possible, FNS Plus filters were also designed for easy maintenance and long-term reliability. So, you can count on them to keep your pool’s water clean and crystal clear for years to come. • Curved vertical grids provide maximum filter surface area for greater dirt-trapping capacity and longer periods between cleanings. • Internal design ensures optimum filtration and backwashing efficiency. • Chemical-resistant, fiberglass-reinforced polypropylene tank for exceptional strength and longer life. • Easily removable filter grid pack to simplify maintenance and save you tim
